Consignor Guidelines
Simply Consignment is searching for consignors with high quality merchandise to sell. We are not a garage sale. We will only be specializing in household furniture, décor, and adult clothing. Please follow these guidelines in deciding what items are suitable for our sale.
Furniture - Simply Consignment will accept all furniture that is in good condition and fashion. We will not accept any furniture that has the following features:
- Stains or rips in fabric
- Faded fabric
- Needs repairs of any kind
- Completely outdated patterns
- Furniture with child-like features
(cribs, toddler beds, plastic furniture, as in Little Tykes)
If you would like to email us a picture of your piece of furniture to get a pre approval, please email it to info@simplyconsignment.com. Please contact us for a preapproved drop off time, if you furniture will not be handled (from your car or truck into our store) by yourself and one of our volunteers due to weight, size or other constraints. We will make sure to have extra help during specified times.
Pick up of large items can be arranged by appointment for Sunday Sept 30th. If you choose to use this service, any item we pick up will be subject to a 50/50 split instead of 70/30. If you would like to make an appointment of have any questions, please contact us at info@simplyconsignment.com.
Home Décor - Simply Consignment is looking for all your decorative items that you can no longer use in your home. Some examples of the types of things we are looking for are:
- Rugs
- Lamps
- Floral Arrangements
- Wall Art
- Nice Decorative Knick Knacks
Clothing - Simply Consignment will only be accepting Men's and Women's clothing that is new with tags or in "like new" condition. We specialize in:
- Formal Wear
- Jeans
- Designer Clothing
- Purses
We cannot accept the following items:
- Maternity clothing
- Children's clothing or accessories
- Undergarments
- Sleepwear
- Hats
- Bed pillows
We will accept the following only if new:
- Shoes
- Linens
TAGGING INSTRUCTIONS:
Clothing - Hang garments on adult-size hangers. All garments should be hung with the hanger's hook pointing left (hanger should resemble a question mark when looking at the front of item). Safety pin clothing sets securely with pants hung on the backside of the shirt and safety pinned at the waist on the hanger, so both pieces can be viewed without unpinning them. Please safety pin pants to the top part of the hanger so the garment will not slide. Plastic or wire hangers are accepted. Also, looking at the clothing the tag should be pinned at the top right of clothes. This will allow the shopper to easily flip through the clothing and the tags will all be located at the same position.
Furniture - Please put the tag in a visible spot that is easy to locate. Keep in mind that we will try to display items as used when possible. (Pictures on wall, sofas in conversational settings). Do not attach the tag in a way that will damage the furniture. If unsure how to attach it, please bring the tag in with you and we will help you.
Other items - Fasten tags securely to your items with clear mailing tape; do not use scotch tape or masking tape. You can also punch a hole in the top of your tag and attach the tag securely with ribbon or string. Zip ties are great and useful for attaching tags and multiple items together (can be purchased at local hardware and discount stores). Accessories and home decor with multiple items: For items with multiples pieces, try to put them in a clear bag that will contain them together but allow the shopper to see the merchandise. If this is not possible, put a label on each piece. Only one will have the tag with all of the necessary information but label the rest of the pieces 2 of 4, 3 of 4, etc with your seller number on each label. For necklaces put inside a baggie and label on outside of bag, purses attach your tag around the purse strap. Attach earrings to earring holders or make your own earring holder out of cardstock, put inside a baggie, and attach tag to bag.
Tag Information - Please be as descriptive as possible when filling in the description field for each item. On Sunday, the last day of the sale, you can choose to have your items discounted by 50% to try to make sure they sell. You will need to check the discount box during the tag creation to allow your item to be sold at a discount. If you do not check the box, the items will only be sold at full price for the entire sale.
